In this very interesting episode of the Learning While Working Podcast Lars Hyland and Matt Linaker from Totara discuss how to navigate the challenges of AI in workplace learning. Lars emphasised the idea that generating content at a faster pace with the help of AI tools might not be advantageous if there is no connection to outcomes. An abundance of content disconnected from learning objectives may leave learners with nothing more than content indigestion.
We couldn’t agree more on this. AI has its many advantages, but it needs to be carefully considered when we use it in our workplaces. Along with the privacy concerns and the lack of human touch in learning, we should not let this take centre stage when it comes to creating great learning outcomes. instead make sure the content actually supports the outcomes that they are wanting to achieve.
