We are thrilled to be doing an initial evaluation of the e-learning modules we developed last year for NZ Landcare Trust – Ngā Matapopore Whenua – the Aotearoa Catchment Extension learning programme.
This nationwide initiative supports those who work with, in, or for New Zealand’s catchment groups, offering valuable, voluntary learning experiences. Working with Casey Toa, Hannah Blake and the NZ Landcare Trust team, we developed six totara-powered modules supporting face-to-face sessions for learners, who also have access to a comprehensive resource library. Developing these modules in the Totara learning management system allowed NZ Landcare Trust to take advantage of the built-in activities, assessments and feedback tools.
Of the six modules developed, two have been launched. Initial evaluation of these modules shows an impressive 131 learners have started. The initial data is really encouraging showing strong engagement, and early feedback indicating significant improvements in understanding the module topics.
Hannah Blake highlights the benefits of the Totara platform, saying, “That’s the thing I like about Synapsys Totara, is it’s very simple to use – the fact that we can tweak it and grow, and do things like that rather than being overly complicated”.
We are excited to see the continued positive impacts of these modules on learners.
