🌟 Celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2023 with us! 🌟
As we embrace Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2023, we thought we would share the resources we find most helpful as we build our language skills. Here’s what we love and recommend:
1️⃣ Te Aka Māori Dictionary – our favourite te reo dictionary, which we also use for group pronunciation practice on common words.
2️⃣ The Ngāi Tahu Atlas – helps us share with the team our places of importance with their Māori names each Tuesday morning.
3️⃣ Kōrerorero app – an excellent app to boost proficiency with conversation in common social situations.
4️⃣ Māori Language.net – our go-to place for linked sets of vocabulary in te Reo.
5️⃣ Te Whanake – a set of print and digital resources for learning and teaching the Māori.
6️⃣ How-to guide for macrons in Windows – so we can get our spelling right!
7️⃣ Rongo app – very useful app to improve pronunciation
8️⃣ Te Reo Māori: Ko and He: A couple of years ago, we made this video, as we worked on understanding the two ways that Māori sentences express the concepts that in English are shown by the word ‘is’. Getting this right really helps with putting sentences together.
Please share your favourite resources with others. Let’s support each other on our te Reo Māori journey.
