The Red Meat Profit Partnership (RMPP) was a Primary Growth Partnership programme that worked to help the red meat sector increase productivity and profitability. Funded by meat processors, banks, Beef + Lamb New Zealand and the Ministry for Primary Industries, RMPP worked with farmers and sector businesses to develop, test and introduce new ideas, new technology solutions and new ways of working.
With six strategic objectives spanning people, research, extension, marketing and beyond, effective sector training was critical to the initiative’s success.

As the learning partner to RMPP, we have helped drive on-farm productivity gains by designing, developing and supporting delivery of a range of learning programmes that leverage rich, interactive media, but are still practical, down to earth, and appeal to farmers and industry people that want to things done. We have developed infographics, facilitator training, videos, animations, and 27 e-learning modules. Collectively they enabled farmer Action Network Groups to target the particular productivity gains relevant to their specific farms.
We also partnered in the measurement of those gains. Using The Evaluator and a custom measurement rubric, RMPP was able to analyse and report on the impact of the Action Network Groups as it related to on farm activity across the country.
Our work continues today, partnering with Beef + Lamb in ensuring learning resources remain current and target the issues faced by the sector in 2022.

229 Action Groups comprising 1,964 farm businesses participated in the programme.
