Bringing our Stands to Life

At Synapsys, our Stands reflect both how we think and are the main drivers of the work that we do. Our Stands are what we believe in and what guide us as individuals and as a business.  So what are they?

Whakarerekē whaitikanga – we stand for meaningful change and the discipline to execute it.
Tiakitanga Whakawhanaunga – we stand for trusting relationships and support both each other and our communities.
Manawanui – we stand for courage and speak our truth with a good heart.

Having recently embarked on our own journey into Te Ao Māori, we know that we have much to offer and to learn, and have made a conscious effort to live by our Stands in our day-to-day work and relationships with one another. So how have we done this?

Last month, this journey began with setting team goals and revising both our karakia and individual mihimihi, which we’ve worked on bringing into our weekly stand-ups as well as into our meetings with clients. Each new project begins with a pepeha and a mihi, to ensure we’re being true to our Stands in our work with our clients. It’s been a journey of growth and learning for every one of us.

With each month that passes, we as an organisation are slowly driving into what we’ve termed our ‘new normal,’ aiming to live by our Stands in every part of our work and journey at Synapsys, both as individuals and as a collective, and of that we are proud.
