A Learning Management System (LMS) is a significant investment, so you would think that it would be linked explicitly to the strategic value it delivers to an organisation, as you would find for core IT infrastructure or production facilities, right? Not necessarily.
We’re surprised by the number of organisations that do not have a clear platform roadmap that is explicit about how the system (and who uses it) will deliver strategic value. Why is this? Possibly because, historically, change, transformation and learning have been seen as somewhat of a ‘dark art’ with vague, opaque outcomes that are difficult to measure.
In 2024 that’s simply not good enough. The challenging economic climate means everyone is looking for clarity on ‘why invest?’. Confidence around the benefits and outputs from any and all investments is not optional. It’s not that difficult to do either. Leveraging your LMS with a clear roadmap targeting key business objectives will ensure investment, time and energy are focused on what actually matters.
